Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has expressed his excitement at working with new manager David Moyes, according to The Express.

The 31-year-old has missed the bulk of this season through injury but has enjoyed an enormous amount of success under Sir Alex Ferguson who brought him to the club from Spartak Moscow in 2006 for just £7 million.

And whilst he took the time to praise Ferguson, he also spoke of his desire to recreate the same success with Moyes as he has experienced under his predecessor as the rumours are that Moyes will seek to carry on where Fergie has left off.

“I’m looking forward to working with David and I believe I will have the same success I had with Sir Alex,” he said.

“David and Sir Alex share some similarities – they are very passionate, they are both winners and you can see the way they approach the games and how they run things.”

“David Moyes did a great job with Everton. He is the man who gets his players to work hard and show discipline. He did that well with Everton because in the last few years they’ve been successful in getting into the top six.”
