Borussia Dortmund are set to rival Manchester United for the signature of Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala, according to talkSPORT.
The 22-year-old has been a target for the English campions since the January transfer window but the club wanted to wait and watch his development over the course of the season before making their move.
However, they may have waited too long as German giants Borussia Dortmund now look set to step up their interest after the French under-21 international has become a key figure in helping Porto in securing their second successive Portuguese league title.
Bayern Munich and AC Milan have been been credited with an interest in the player but it is now being reported that Dortmund are the frontrunners to make a move after Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp was reported to be attendance for the club’s game against Benfica last weekend.
Klopp is expected to make a number of moves in the transfer market this summer as the club prepare to lose a number of their stars.
And like Dortmund, Porto are gearing up for an exodus of their own as Jackson Martinez, James Rodriguez, Christian Atsu and now Mangala are all being mooted with moves away.
