But his agent IS in London.
Corinthians star Paulinho has admitted that talks over his future are on hold despite his agent currently being in London, talkSPORT reports.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks as Andre Villas-Boas attempts to shuffle the pack ahead of a fresh challenge on the Premier League next season but has been told that he will need to splash out £17 million should he want to bring the midfielder to north London.
Paulinho is currently with the Brazilian national side as part of the squad competing in the Confederations Cup, but his agent is in London, though he has admitted that he is still some way off confirming a deal as he heads into the final year of his contract with the Brazilian club.
“Unfortunately, at this moment in time, nobody has offered Corinthians the fee set in my contract for my sale. Nobody,” he told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
“All I am hearing is blah, blah, blah. My agent is in London right now, but he is not discussing me – he has other clients.”
He also revealed that scouts from Italian giants Roma and Inter Milan are in Brazil watching him, but he insisted that nothing will happen until after the tournament.
“Roma and Inter are clubs where any player would want to be, but you’ll see that nothing will happen until after the Confederations Cup,” he added.
