Corinthians midfielder Paulinho has confirmed Tottenham’s official bid for his services but has reiterated his club’s stance that he will not make a decision on his future until after the Confederations Cup.

The BBC has confirmed Paulinho is considering the offer from the White Hart lane side but that as yet nothing was certain.

Speaking after Brazil’s 4-2 win over Italy, he stated: “There is an official offer from Tottenham to Corinthians.
“But, as I did when there was an Inter Milan offer, I’ll sit and decide with my family before I make any decision.”

Andre Villas-Boas’s side are thought to have made a successful £17m bid for the 24 year old, who sat out his side’s match against Italy but did score in Brazil’s opening Confederations Cup win over Japan, as well as netting against England earlier this month.

Villas-Boas has been linked with a number of potential summer signings but as yet has not brought in any new additions this summer.

Paulinho is a box to box performer who has netted 34 goals in four seasons at Corinthians but is also renowned for his tackling ability and currently edges out recent Man City signing Fernandinho in the Brazilian national team set-up
