Swans hoping to secure a deal for the young midfielder.
Swansea are preparing an approach for Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey according to The Daily Mail.
The youngster arrived at the club with a strong reputation and was hotly tipped to be one to watch in the future.
But Shelvey has failed to establish himself on the Liverpool team and is reportedly ready to consider a move elsewhere.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Shakhtar Donetsk’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan in recent weeks which is likely further diminish Shelvey’s chances of first team football.
He already finds himself behind the likes of Phillipe Coutinho, Steven Gerrard and Lucas in the Liverpool side and it appears Shelvey may be ready to cut his losses.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers continues to believe that Shelvey has a bright future in the game but is ready to sell the player as he looks to fund his summer spending spree.
The Anfield boss is reportedly looking for around £8 million for the former Charlton player but could be tempted by an offer of £5 million plus add-ons.
That is likely to interest Swansea, who have already begun talks with Liverpool as they look to beat off competition from the likes of Norwich, who are also thought to be preparing a bid.
