Arsenal are still in with a chance of signing Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar, for the original £1.5million asking price according to Sky Sports.

The 33 year-old was set to sign for Rafa Benitez’s Napoli, but it is thought that the deal is currently stalling over disagreements with personal terms. Arsene Wenger is looking to sign a new goalkeeper after Wojciech Szczesny has failed to impress in recent months, mainly due to sloppy mistakes.

QPR chief executive, Philip Beard told reporters that there is no agreement with any club, whether it be Napoli or Arsenal.

“There’s nothing firm. He is Brazil’s number one goalkeeper, so I’m sure he’ll interest a lot of clubs as the season starts to get closer,” Beard told reporters.

“We’ll look at what deals are on offer and if they’re right for us and the player. Having Brazil’s number one keeper in the Championship would be an interesting dynamic. We might see something happen.”

Josias Cardoso [Cesar’s agent] told Italian reporters, “it’s not all done yet, there are many possibilities but there are some details to be resolved between the player and Napoli.”
