Francesco Totti has urged midfielder Daniele De Rossi to stay with the club despite reported interest from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris St Germain, Goal.com reports

The midfielder, who has been at Roma for his whole career, has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico this summer following a disappointing season.

De Rossi fell out with the clubs former manager and spent large parts of the season on the bench, something unusual to a player who is used to being at the centre of Roma’s midfield.

This has led to speculation that De Rossi may finally seek a fresh start at a new club and reports suggest that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is willing to offer him just that.

Mourinho is a long term fan of De Rossi and tried to sign him when he was manager of Inter Milan and then Real Madrid and it is thought that De Rossi is considering a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, Totti hopes that De Rossi will honour his 30th birthday by committing his future to Roma.

“Best wishes for turning 30 Daniele, even though you are getting old now and are practically finished,” joked Totti in a video message on Roma Channel.

“It will be best if you give us a present rather than the other way around, so stay here at Roma and we will win something beautiful together.”
