Galatasaray striker set for Serie A switch.Lazio are on the verge of signing Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz from under the noses of Arsenal, according to the Daily Express.

The Turkish international has been hot property in the transfer market all summer, finding himself linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea as well.

With 34 goals in 47 games for club and country last season, the 28-year-old was reportedly valued at around £20million this summer, though he appears set to join Lazio for just £12.8million.

This will represent something of a steal for the Serie A outfit, and another blow for Arsenal fans in what has been a miserable transfer window.

With additions needed upfront, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already missed out on the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez, though his focus now seems to be on a midfielder, with the news that the club have submitted a bid to Newcastle for Yohan Cabaye.

Galatasaray have managed to attract some big names to the club in the last year, with Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder joining in January, so they will be confident in finding a replacement for top-scorer Yilmaz.

Arsenal will likely now continue to pursue Swansea City’s Michu, with the Spanish striker seen as a decent alternative to Higuain and Suarez.
