Star on his way out of the Blues

Veteran Chelsea midfield player Michael Essien is set to leave Stamford Bridge in this month’s transfer window, according to reports in the London Evening Standard.

The experienced Ghana international was brought back to the club from a season-long loan deal with La Liga giants Real Madrid last summer by returning Blues head coach Jose Mourinho, however, Essien has barely featured for the west Londoners so far in this campaign.

And now the player’s agent has confirmed that the 31-year-old is seeking to leave the Blues in January, with his client already in receipt of a number of offers from big-name clubs across the Continent.

Mata heading for the Blues exit door

Serie A giants Inter Milan will make a bid for out-of-favour Chelsea wide man Juan Mata in the winter transfer window, claims the Daily Mirror.

The brilliant Spain international has found himself in the unusual position of warming the substitutes’ bench of late, and with the Fifa World Cup finals now just around the corner, the player is believed to be desperate to depart Stamford Bridge this month in the search for regular first-team football.

Blues will need to break the bank to land South American defender

Chelsea will need to fork out a whopping £50 million in order to land highly rated Villarreal centre-back Mateo Musacchio in the January transfer window, reports the Daily Mirror.

The west Londoner club are said to be desperate to land a new central defender this month, with Blues boss Jose Mourinho having earmarked the Argentina international for a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, the president of the Yellow Submarines has now insisted that they will only sell the 23-year-old if a bidder pays the full value of the player’s buyout clause in his current contract at El Madrigal.

Mourinho edges closer to deal for Serie A-based Brazilian

In-demand Verona midfield player Jorginho will sit down to discuss his future with the Italian outfit shortly as Chelsea step up their interest in the Brazilian, says the Daily Mirror.

Representatives from the Serie A side were believed to be at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as the west Londoners overcame Liverpool 2-1 and a decision about the player’s future will be made shortly.

Spain striker will not be moving to the Bridge

Chelsea target Diego Costa is set to leave Atletico de Madrid and join Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund instead, reports the Daily Mirror.

The Uefa Europa League holders have been tracking the prolific striker for some time, but now look set to miss out on the Brazilian-born attacker’s signature though.
