Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has been eyeing up the Ukrainian international for some months but will renew his interest in the talented wide-man in view of his efforts to sign FC Basel’s Mohamed Salah seemingly hitting the buffers.
Rodgers is keen to strengthen his attack due to the inability of loaned in winger Victor Moses to make an impact and summer signing Iago Aspas appearing out of his depth at the top end of the Premier League.
Yarmolenko is a proven performer who has been a consistent attacking force at the NSC Olimpiyskiy for the past four seasons, scoring a total of 70 goals in 197 appearances for Dynamo Kiev since breaking into the first team set-up back in 2007.
£15m seems a fair price for a player of Yarmolenko’s experience and potential.
Rodgers has seen the likes of Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Coutinho impress on a regular basis and may feel that the addition of another attacking weapon would greatly assist in the club’s pursuit of a top four finish.
