La Liga outfit Valencia are interested in signing out-of-favour Liverpool front man Iago Aspas on a six-month loan deal in the January transfer window, according to reports on talkSPORT.co.uk.

The forward has only been at Anfield now since last May, when the Merseyside giants landed Aspas from La Liga strugglers Celta de Vigo on a five-year contract for a fee of £7.7m.

However, despite the Spaniard shining for his new team during preseason last summer, Aspas has since found it hard to settle with the Reds, with the 26-year-old having so far managed to find the back of the net on just one occasion all campaign long, and even that strike only arrived last Sunday against League One minnows Oldham Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup.

And yet in the attacker’s ten other matches in the Premier League, Aspas has only managed to draw a blank, so much so that now new Valencia boss Juan Antonio Pizzi wants to bring the player back to Spain on a short-term deal before the winter transfer window slams shut for business for the season again at the end of the month.
