The Anfield club are believed to have made a late offer for the England under-21 international, who has already travelled to South Wales to hold talks with Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup.

Ince also has admirers in the shape of  Crystal Palace, Stoke, Hull and Sunderland too, all of whom are looking to take advantage of his expiring contract at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders gave the player permission to travel to Wales to hold talks with the Premier League strugglers after giving his father, Paul, his managerial marching orders last week.

A deal would see a small loan fee paid to the Tangerines and he would then spend the rest of the campaign out on loan before making a more concrete decision regarding his future over the summer.

French giants Monaco have also been linked with a shock move for the young winger, but he is believed to be keen on making a move back to the Premier League as soon as possible.
