The legacy the Serb will be leaving in England.
The announcement that Nemanja Vidic will be leaving Manchester United in the summer and joining Inter Milan has been met with a mixture of feelings and emotions.
The Red Devils captain is considered to be one of the best defenders of the modern era and has enjoyed eight-and-a-half years of success with United, winning five Premier League titles, three League Cups and the Champions League, to name a few achievements.
Yet that time has also been blighted by injuries and at 32-years-old many think the Serbian is past his best and is no longer good enough to serve at Old Trafford.
Here is how the Twitterati have reacted to the news.
My reaction to Inter signing Vidic at 32 is more or less the same as when they signed Forlan at 32. Wonder if it’ll be different.Suspect not

Vidic’s “decline” goes with Man Utd’s decline which correlates with SAF leaving. He needed a career change to fix that IMO

Rooney should be United captain for rest of season. Vidic has been a great player for club but he’s leaving. Shouldn’t have armband

One of my best memories of Vidic is from Moscow. Rio was down with cramp and Vidic was helping him. Band of brothers. pic.twitter.com/ExIBVEkVdd

At his peak Nemanja Vidic was pretty awesome. Like a robot with human emotions; specifically a full-on love for blocking stuff.

It definitely isn’t a youth movement, but Thohir deserves credit for landing Hernanes and Vidic in span of a few weeks

Vidic has currently played 291 times for the reigning English champions in all competitions and is regarded by many as one of the all-time greats for the club.
