Emirates Stadium side set sights on experienced Dutch international.

Check in to Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has set his sights on Schalke forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar according to Tribalfootball.

The former Ajax, Real Madrid and AC Milan man was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium 18 months ago and has fought hard to return to somewhere near his best following lengthy knee injury setbacks.

Huntelaar is now into his fourth season at Schalke and has scored an impressive 86 goals in 129 appearances but could now be tempted by a fresh challenge in the English top tier, having previously stated his desire to play in the Premier League.

The Dutch international has scored five goals in his last five appearances and could be open to a fresh challenge and may feel confident of fighting Olivier Giroud for the starting spot leading the Gunners attack.

Wenger could well do with strengthening his attack as German Lukas Podolski has struggled with form and fitness this term and Theo Walcott has been sidelined for huge chunks of the current campaign.
