Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner is an odd fellow.
The giant Danish international is set to see his Gunners contract expire in the summer and appears to feel that as such he will be a much coveted target when the transfer window re-opens. This does of course depend on whether prospective clubs are willing to overlook the player’s poor record in front of goal and his penchant for getting very drunk and doing very stupid things on a regular basis.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was forced to usher Bendtner back into his first team squad due to the lack of attacking alternatives in his armoury. This may have given the 26 year old delusions of grandeur.
Prior to the current campaign Bendtner spent a year at Juventus, a loan move that no one can really explain, during which he failed to net in 11 appearances.
Bendtner did do marginally better during his temporary spell at Sunderland, though not well enough to secure a permanent switch.
Now Bendtner is demanding a whopping 40m Danish Krone per season deal according to Ekstra Bladet which equates to around £4.5m a year.
Any club that is willing to make such an offer quite frankly deserves to suffer immediate relegation from whatever league they take part in.
