Premier League champions Manchester United are hoping to be able to complete a deal to sign coveted FC Zurich starlet Dimitri Oberlin at the end of the season, according to reports on Inside Futbol.

The 16-year-old midfielder, who can also be pushed further forward so as to operate as a front man too, has been attracting the attentions of Serie A outfit Udinese of late too.

However, the Southern Italians have so far been unable to come to an agreement with the Swiss giants regarding a deal for the wonderkid, and as a result that has now seemingly opened the door for the Red Devils to themselves move in and land Oberlin this summer.

The youngster, who will be 17 in September, already has a huge reputation back in Switzerland, so much so that his club are said to be desperate to keep hold of the player for the next campaign, although Zurich are also understood to recognise that they will not be able to stand in Oberlin’s way should the Premier League team follow up their interest with an actual firm offer.
