The future of unsettled Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna is still up in the air after the Frenchman’s agent met with officials from Turkish giants Galatasaray earlier this week to discuss a potential move for the player, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The experienced France international’s current deal at the Emirates only runs until the end of June, meaning that Sagna will be available to purchase on a lucrative Bosman-style free transfer this summer.

However, despite the north London club having been negotiating with the attacking full back’s representatives for the past year now, both parties have still to reach an agreement about extending Sagna’s seven-year stay in the capital.

And with the player having been able to negotiate with foreign-based clubs since the beginning of the year, the chances of the Gunners being able to keep hold of the 31-year-old are receding by the day, with the Turkish champions now the new favourites to sign Sagna this summer.

Officials from the Turks met with Sagna’s agent in Mayfair on Sunday night to discuss a move to Istanbul, with Gala said to be prepared to meet the defender’s demands for a £20m three-year deal.
