Man City are considering a possible sale of recently signed Spanish Alvaro Negredo as they look to make room for the addition of PSG goal machine Edinson Cavani according to Football Direct News.

Etihad Stadium boss Manuel Pellegrini has an embarrassment of riches up front with the Chilean able to call upon Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic and his side have consequently netted a impressive 80 goals in 30 Premier League fixtures this term, only Liverpool have scored more, though the Anfield side have played two more matches.

28 year old Negredo started the season in explosive fashion, netting 14 goals by the turn of the year but has struggled in 2014, failing to score in his last seven Premier League appearances.

It would however be surprising for Pellegrini to be looking to sell the former Sevilla man with one imagining that Jovetic and Dzeko being perhaps more likely to be offloaded.

Man City’s push to snap up Cavani may be something of a struggle with the likes of Chelsea, Man United and Real Madrid all recently linked with an interest in the 27 year old.

For all his perceived failings Negredo has still managed to notch up a very laudable 26 goals in all competitions this season.
