Arsenal are ready to re-ignite their interest in French midfielder Yohan Cabaye amid reports that the French international is unsettled at PSG following his move to the Parc des Princes in January.

Football Direct News suggests that though the Gunners failed in their pursuit of the 28 year old Arsene Wenger is ready to make his interest in the cultured schemer this summer.

Cabaye has struggled to retain a foothold in the Laurent Blanc’s starting eleven since his £19m move from Newcastle United to the French capital.

The former Magpies star has made 16 appearances for PSG though tellingly only six of those were starts and with talk of interest in Miralem Pjanic and Marco Reus there is every chance the former Lille man may be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium.

It’s a tad surprising that having spent a big sum on Cabaye the Ligue 1 title holders don’t appear to value their new signing all that highly and Wenger would do well to make his interest known so as to further unsteady his presence at the big spending French side.

With Mikel Arteta putting in a series of poor displays and injury concerns over the likes of Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Aaron Ramsey it is sensible for the North London club to target a player of Cabaye’s obvious quality.
