Lyon boss Remi Garde is said to be keen on replacing Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager, so much so that the former Gunners man is stalling on signing a new deal with his Ligue 1 employers according to Football Direct News.

The 48 year old Frenchman has done a great job at the Stade Gerland, working with a tight budget, leading the club to back to back top four finishes as well as the Coupe de La Ligue final this term.

Garde is one of a number of manager’s linked with the north London club in recent months with Everton’s Roberto Martinez and Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp perhaps leading the Lyon man in a race to succeed Arsene Wenger who has been under a great deal of pressure this term after seeing Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge falter.

Remi Garde spent three years at Arsenal in the late 90s, making 45 appearances for the club.
