The Gunners have relied heavily on French striker Olivier Giroud for goals this season, and they have been widely tipped to make moves to bring in more reinforcements on board over the summer.

Riviere has been just one name linked with a potential move to the Emirates during the summer transfer window after he came to the fore by stepping into the shoes left by Radamel Falcao when he was ruled out for the remainder of the season in January.

And now the 24-year-old has talked up a move to the club by claiming that he has harboured such desires ever since he was a young boy.

“England is my dream since I was a kid,” he told L’Equipe. “I was dreaming of Arsenal.

“You have to believe and never let go. I’m good at Monaco today, I have three years left on my contract. There will surely be reinforcements this summer. We wills ee what happens”.

Riviere has been in fine form for Monaco this season, bagging 10 goals in 27 appearances.
