Check in to Everton vs Manchester City

Everton will look to lure midfielder Jack Rodwell back to Goodison Park this summer with the Man City’s move to the Etihad Stadium having thus far proven something of a mistake.

Football Direct News claims that the 23 year old will look to secure a Man City exit and a move back to Everton may well tempt the England international.

Man City paid £12m for Rodwell back in August 2012 but has gone on to secure just seven Premier League starts in two seasons and there is a very real chance that his career will stagnate if he remains at the club.

Rodwell is behind the likes of Yaya Toure, Fernandinho and Javi Garcia in the central midfield pecking order under Manuel Pellegrini and Man City may be ready to offload the talented youngster.

One wonders how much Everton are willing to pay for Rodwell and just how much of that initial fee Man City will want to recoup, an initial loan move may be an option that also works well for all concerned.
