The 27 year old forward is said to have clashed with Parc des Princes boss Laurent Blanc in relation to the club’s style of play and the way the Uruguayan fits into the club’s attacking plans which has led to strong speculation regarding a summer exit.
Though unsettled Cavani has still managed to net 25 goals in all competitions and Man United are keen to bring in the former Napoli man this summer though such a move would cost the Old Trafford club a fee in excess of the club record fee paid to bring in Juan Mata in January.
Incoming Man United boss Louis van Gaal has reportedly given his blessing to the move and one imagines that such a signing would lead to one, or perhaps two, of the club’s current crop of strikers being offloaded with both Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez perhaps keen to secure regular first team football elsewhere.
PSG forked out £53m to bring in Cavani after he scored 104 goals in three seasons in Naples and it would take an offer greater than that outlay to persuade the Ligue 1 side to sell.
