Wenger wants to bring in a replacement for Lukasz Fabianski and sees the 32 year old Argentine as the ideal man to challenge Wojciech Szczesny for the Gunners starting eleven berth.

Fabianszki opted to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer and joined Swansea City.

Caballero is considered one of the best keepers in La Liga and with his side falling from grace, from Champions League competitors to mid-table in the matter of one season, the experienced custodian could be tempted by a move to north London.

Wenger is said to have a £100m transfer kitty and will offer Malaga £7m and are ready to loan the Andalusian side a player on loan to help sweeten the deal.

Diego Simeone is also said to be tracking Caballero with Atletico Madrid likely to lose the services of loaned in Chelsea man Thibaut Courtois whilst Man City are also chasing the Malaga man.

Arsene Wenger has outlined the purchase of a second keeper and a replacement for right-back Bacary Sagna as his top priorities this summer though no doubt Arsenal fans will hope that the club also brings in a proven goal-scorer to challenge Olivier Giroud up front.
