As camera’s trained on Cristiano Ronaldo’s new hair-cut there were probably more than a few people of the belief that this ‘new-look’ was yet more evidence of a self obsessed individual who was upstaging his nation’s push for a crucial result against the United States in favour of drawing yet more attention to himself.
It seems those people could not be further from the truth.
Apparently the reason he had this new hair-cut relates to the 29 year old’s relationship with a young fan with a serious medical condition, the tweet below explains more in detail.

In an age of millionaire footballers and corrupt governing bodies it is all to easy to be cynical about the game but if this is indeed true then we take our collective hats off to Cristiano Ronaldo and wish Erik Ortiz Cruz a speedy recovery.
