The Gunners were said to have agreed a £3.2m fee with French club Nice for the 25-year-old but with no firm deal yet in place, Spanish side Valencia hope to hijack the transfer.

And now it is being reported in French newspaper L’Equipe that another unnamed club in Spain as well as a club in Mexico are also hoping to steal in on the deal themselves.

Ospina was just one of several impressive performers between the sticks at this summer’s World Cup as he helped the South Americans to a quarter final appearance where they eventually crashed out at the hands of hosts Brazil.

His performances for Colombia caught Arsene Wenger’s attention, and he was set to wrap up a move for the player as he looks to replace the departed Lukasz Fabianski and bring in a goalkeeper to put pressure on current number one Wojciech Szczesny.

However, the Gunners weren’t the only ones keeping an eye on him and they now face a battle to land his signature.
