The north London side will pay £3.2m for the custodian, who greatly impressed with Colombia during the recent World Cup finals.

The 25 year old would be brought in to keep first choice keeper Wojciech Szczesny on his toes, and would replace Lukasz Fabianski who left for Swansea City.

Ospina has turned down a move to Valencia and may feel confident of ousting Szczesny at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger has already secured the signings of Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy from Barcelona and Newcastle United respectively but does not appear to have finished his summer spending.

Having successfully brought an end to the club’s lengthy silverware drought with their dramatic FA Cup final win over Hull City in May the north London side will look to build upon the triumph with a genuine push for further major honours.

Ospina played a key role in helping Colombia to the World Cup quarter-finals.
