Fulham have officially confirmed the signing of Arsenal youngster Thomas Eisfeld.

The Championship side have brought in the talented German midfielder on a two year deal, with an option of a further 12 month extension, and it’s a move that may perhaps surprise Gunners fans given the fact that the former Borussia Dortmund man is considered a very hot prospect.

Eisfeld moved to the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2012 and made two senior appearances, both in Capital One Cup action, and was perhaps fearful of being unable to forge a career at the north London club due to the presence of a number of top talents ahead of him in the Gunners pecking order.

Fulham boss Felix Magath is hopeful of bringing in further summer signings with the BBC quoting the German as wanting to bring in experienced additions as his side sets about attempting an instant return to the top tier.

“We have a very young squad at the moment so I think we need, for a very difficult season, some experience.”

“I’m very happy with the attitude and ambition of the players we have.

“Unfortunately, we need other players and I hope we will get them here next week.”

Fulham have brought in a number of signings in recent weeks the most prominent of which being the £11m capture of Leeds United goal machine Ross McCormack.
