Remy is set to become Liverpool’s fifth signing of the summer with Brendan Rodgers having already signed Emre Can, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic.
Indeed Rodgers is also set to welcome in his sixth addition with Southampton defender Dejan Lovren said to be close to making the move to the Merseyside outfit.
Remy netted 14 goals in 24 Premier League starts for the Magpies last term and scored six in 14 for QPR, more than proving that the former Marseille man has what it takes to be a consistent option for Rodgers to use up front having seen Luis Suarez complete his £75m move to Barcelona.
Rodgers has the funds to make further additions, not least because of the sum garnered from Suarez’s sale, but also due to the financial bonus the club will receive from their long awaited return to Champions League action.
