Just hours after losing popular young defender Calum Chambers to Arsenal on Monday afternoon, reports broke that his former teammates are in talks with Spurs about a proposed double swoop.

Former Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on reuniting with his old employees and now looks to further the south coast club’s woes by adding to the recent exodus.

The club have already lost Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Dejan Lovren and now Chambers, with the likes of Schneiderlin, Rodriguez and Dani Osvaldo set to follow suit.

France midfielder Schneiderlin had been a target for Arsenal, though it is thought that he could be persuaded to link up with Spurs as he is keen on a reunion with Pochettino.

England international Rodriguez enjoyed a splendid campaign last season netting 15 goals before his World cup dreams were shattered by a late season ACL injury.

Though the deals have earned the club a lot of money, there are worries that the players they sign to replace their departed stars with won’t be of the same quality and will render them as relegation fodder for the upcoming campaign.
