Louis van Gaal has begun trimming his squad at Manchester United, with the Red Devils allowing young striker Angelo Henriquez to leave the club, with the 20 year-old’s season-long loan move to Dinamo Zagreb having been confirmed.

The young Chilean is yet to make his senior bow for United, having spent last season on loan in the Spanish Segunda Division with Real Zaragoza, scoring twice for the club.

He was brought to Old Trafford in 2012 after bursting onto the scene as a teenager at Chilean top flight outfit Universidad de Chile, scoring 11 goals in 17 league appearances before being lured away by the bright lights of the Premier League.

Henriquez also spent a brief spell on loan at Wigan Athletic under the management of Roberto Martinez, but made just four Premier League appearances for the Latics, scoring one goal.

He will now be given the opportunity to prove his worth in a new footballing culture, with Dinamo, comfortably the biggest club in Croatia, once again expected to challenge for the league title.

Henriquez will also get the opportunity to compete in continental competition, with Dinamo facing Romanian side Petrolul Ploiseti in a play-off tie for a place in the group stages of the 2013/14 Europa League.
