La Liga giants Valencia believe that they can convince Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo to return to Spain this summer, and are prepared to make an offer for the player despite his current injury issues.

The Daily Mail are reporting that City want £25m for Negredo, who turned 29 on Wednesday, a player that they only bought from Sevilla for £16.4m last summer.

Negredo will be out of action until at least September due to an injury sustained during the early stages of pre-season, but Valencia are still keen on making a bid if they can convince the Premier League champions to lower their asking price.

Manuel Pellegrini has recently declared that he is happy with his squad, but wouldn’t rule out any outgoings. John Guidetti, Scott Sinclair and Micah Richards are also expected to be free to leave, with City have already brought in Fernando, Bacary Sagna, Frank Lampard and Eliaquim Mangala this summer.
