Chambers collects Gunners gong.
Former Southampton defender Calum Chambers has been named as Arsenal’s Player of the Month for August.
The 19-year-old, who joined the Gunners in a £16m move in July, has played six times for his new club so far, helping them keep clean sheets against Manchester City and in both legs of their Champions League qualifier with Besiktas.
Chambers has been deployed predominantly at centre-half by Arsenal, but he played in his more familiar position of right-back when he made his England debut as a second-half sub in last week’s 1-0 win over Norway.
Arsenal posted the below image to their Instagram account on Wednesday night, along with the message: “This is the #Arsenal.com Player of the Month for August – @chambers1995. Do you agree with the fans’ choice?”
