The German forward has found himself largely on the outside looking in this season, with new signings Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez adding to an already strong forward line.

Podolski has failed to impress on the few occasions he was given a chance with the first team, so his situation doesn’t look like changing any time soon. As a result the unsettled striker is believed to be a target for Italian side Juventus, recent comments from the Germany international giving them hope of attaining his signature.

“I want to play 90 minutes and more than one or two games. If the situation didn’t worry me, I would be out of place. This is logical.” Podolski explained.

The former Bayern Munich man was hotly tipped for a summer move, with Juventus keen to bring him to Italy. When asked if Podolski was still a transfer target for the club CEO Giuseppe Marotta answered very positively.

“If there is a possibility to make a move [for Podolski] in January, we will do that,” he said.

Podolski joined the Gunners in 2012, and while he scored a not totally unimpressive 28 goals in 73 appearances, he often went missing in important games for Arsenal.

He is known for his constant cheerful attitude and jokes on social media, helping him to become a fan favourite off the pitch. On the pitch is a different matter however, and many Gooners may not be too upset to see the German leave in the near future.
