Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco have all been touted as possible destinations for the 32-year-old goalkeeper, after his demotion to back-up at Stamford Bridge.

Cech had been Chelsea’s first choice for a decade after he took over from Carlo Cudicini when Jose Mourinho first joined the club back in 2004. However, his association with the club could come to an end this season as he struggles to win his place back from Thibaut Courtois.

The strongest interest in his signature has come from Ligue 1, where he once plaid his trade with Rennes, but it now appears that Besiktas could emerge as frontrunners.

Chelsea have agreed a strategic partnership with the Istanbul outfit, with agent Mithat Halis claiming a switch to Turkey is a possibility.

He said: “We have not held talks yet. However, Chelsea have recently made an agreement with Besiktas. Chelsea have similar deals with Vitesse and other clubs.

“If Cech does become available Besiktas would become a potential destination.”
