Wenger stated that his compatriot should return before the New Year, despite the former Montpellier man original expected to be out injured well into 2015 after injuring his foot against Everton earlier in the season.

The Gunners were dangerously short of attacking options at the start of the season, with a number of key injuries threatening to derail the new campaign before it even started.

With Theo Walcott also set to make a full return soon following a lengthy injury, the Premier League side should soon have a plethora of attacking options to choose from.

Giroud may not be the most loved player at the Emirates Stadium, with many fans feeling he is far too wasteful and one dimensional, but it has been clear at times however that the North London side have missed him, and he should add some much needed firepower as well.
