The highly-rated 21-year-old has caught the eye in Italy this season with two goals in the top flight so far, and it could be that he will be available in the near future as Arsenal look to strike an agreement with his parent club Juventus.

Boakye has never played a game for the Turin giants, having spent three spells out on loan from the club since joining from Genoa back in 2012, also impressing at Sassuolo and Elche in that time.

Arsenal could do with more options upfront this season, with Yaya Sanogo providing little in the way of backup for main striker Danny Welbeck, who is the club’s only real option until Olivier Giroud returns from injury.

Arsene Wenger’s side have been linked with some more high-profile names in recent times, but it may now be that they will shift their attention to his little-known prospect as he continues to impress with his displays in Serie A.

Boakye seems unlikely to break into the Juventus team anytime soon, with big names such as Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata among their options upfront.
