The 26-year-old was taken to court by his father after he sacked him as managing director of marketing company Ozil Marketing Gmbh.

Mustafa Ozil claimed that he was owed about £493,000 in lost earnings, but the 2014 World Cup winner refused to pay him and the case eventually went to the German court system.

The Germany international has now settled the case with his parent, but has replaced him as his representative with his brother Mutlu.

Mustafa had been integral to organising the midfielder’s move to current club Arsenal from Real Madrid, but he will now not have any involvement with his son’s career.

Gooners will be hoping this does not distract Mesut from recovering from a knee injury and coming back to help his team recover from a poor start to the season.
