The Gunners are considering signing one of two South American forwards, either Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, or in-form Palermo wonderkid Paulo Dybala.

Although Arsenal signed Danny Welbeck from Manchester United in a £16m deadline day deal, it seems that the England international has not managed to convince Wenger with his displays so far this season, now being shifted out wide since the return from injury of Olivier Giroud.

Still, Arsenal may look to sign an upgrade on both these players, and it is expected that the more experienced Cavani is Wenger’s preferred option at the moment.

Dybala has shown plenty of promise so far this season, but the north Londoners want to bring in another big name with proven quality after the success of Alexis Sanchez since his move to the Emirates Stadium from Barcelona this summer.
