The Argentine has been in superb form this season and has been linked with United several times in the past, though they are now looking ready to step up their interest in bringing him to Old Trafford.
Valencia are seemingly ready to sell the player as well, with the Spanish side looking at bringing in a new defender this winter, so it could be that Otamendi will be available for the right price.
With Borussia Dortmund star Hummels possibly looking out of reach for the moment, there’s no doubt that Otamendi could make a fine alternative in that position for Louis van Gaal’s side.
The Dutchman spent big over the summer on many new names and seems set to do so again here with this big-money move to tighten up at the back.
