The Only Player Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger Should Consider Signing In January

Forget any other targets, this is the player the Emirates Stadium outfit must seek to bring in next month.

Arsene Wenger doesn’t traditionally spend in the January transfer window but that hasn’t stopped the north London side being linked with a host of possible additions though there really is only one player he should be eyeing up next month.

The Arsenal boss invested well over the summer but didn’t address his side’s lack of a defensive midfield option and though the club is certainly suffering with injuries at the back Wenger should look to sign Southampton battler Morgan Schneiderlin.

Bringing in a strong midfielder will of course, in theory, ease pressure on Arsenal’s back-line and will afford the club’s more creative talents more time and space on the ball.

Arsene Wenger is known to be keen on the 25 year old French international and having seen Southampton stutter of late after a superb start to the season the timing may be right to make a concrete offer for the former Strasbourg man.

Schneiderlin saw a number of his team-mates leave St Mary’s for pastures new over the summer and though on the whole those who left haven’t impressed the box to box performer may well still be seeking a ‘high-profile’ transfer and may well be keen on playing under compatriot Wenger.

Neither Mikel Arteta or Mathieu Flamini are consistent enough in the holding/defensive midfield role and it’s very much a ‘problem area’ of the north London side and Schneiderlin is very much the solution.
