Rabiot has previously been touted by Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, but the Premier League trio cooled their respective pursuits after the 19-year-old signed a new deal at the Parc des Princes earlier this season.

However, the France Under-21 international is currently struggling for game time at PSG with the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Thiago Motta and Marco Verratti all ahead of him for a place in midfield.

That is why club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is open to allowing Rabiot to leave the French capital on-loan, with Spurs making it known they are interested and prepared to pay all of the Frenchman’s wages during his time at White Hart Lane.

However, it looks as if the North London side could be scuppered in their pursuit of the teenager as the Reds have also thrown their hat into the ring, stating they will match Tottenham’s offer.

Rabiot is a product of the PSG youth system and has previously spent time away from the French champions on-loan with Toulouse in 2013.
