Real sound out David de Gea’s representatives about a potential transfer.

Real Madrid have sounded out the representatives of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea as they look to step up efforts to secure an ambitious £30 million deal for the Spanish international, report the Mirror, despite reports that the former Atletico Madrid star was close to penning a huge new contract at Old Trafford.

United completed a deal to sign experienced former Barcelona stopper Victor Valdes on an 18 month deal, after he spent some time training with the club, on Thursday – and some have taken this capture as an indication that the Red Devils are making sure all posibilities are covered in case de Gea is lured back to La Liga.

With Iker Casillas heading towards the end of his time as the club’s undisputed number one and summer signing Keylor Navas’ blue touchpaper yet to be ignited in Madrid, Real are thought to be looking at de Gea as the next long term incumbent of their number one shirt.

United are sure to put up a stubborn fight to keep the goalie, however, with de Gea having been the club’s most impressive performer in the Premier League so far this season and having won Louis van Gaal’s performances single handedly with some of his virtuoso displays.
