Upton Park boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed his interest in the 30 year old and is seemingly leading the chase for the experienced Scottish international.
Louis van Gaal may well not stand in Fletcher’s way if he were to push for an exit this month given that his Old Trafford contract expires in the summer, offering Man United the chance to garner a fee for the player in preference to losing him on a free transfer.
Fletcher is into his 13th season in the Man United first team set-up but has suffered with illness for much of the past couple of campaigns.
The arrivals of Ander Herrera and Daley Blind, and the resurgence of Marouane Fellaini, have seen Fletcher’s chances limited.
Van Gaal has handed Fletcher just four Premier League starts this season, the last of which coming in December.
Fletcher has made a total of 342 appearances for Man United since making his debut in March 2003.
