Wenger has seen the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud impress greatly this term but is still seemingly keen on adding to his Emirates Stadium attack.

The north London side are tracking Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac and Juventus forward Fernando Llorente as possible summer captures.

Gignac has been in superb form this term, his 14 goal haul aiding Marseille’s Ligue 1 title push, and as such is a player of interest to Wenger though his reported interest in Llorente is harder to fathom.

The lanky Spaniard has been poor this term, netting just four goals, and has recently found himself behind the likes of Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata in Massimiliano Allegri’s pecking order.

Gignac will see his Marseille contract expire this summer, whilst Llorente is valued at as much as £16m by this source, so one assumes the Frenchman is a more viable cost-effective option.

Having loaned out Lukas Podolski, Joel Campbell and Yaya Sanogo in the January transfer window one imagines any interest in this pair could be with a view to potential permanent sales of the Arsenal trio.
