Sorry Liverpool! QPR Star Striker Charlie Austin In Talks Over Whopping New Contract

Charlie Austin set to be rewarded for his 14 goals this season.

While Queens Park Rangers sit only outside the bottom-three in the Premier League on goal-difference, they could have been a certainty for the drop months ago had it not have been for the goals of star striker Charlie Austin.

It seems that the forward is going to be rewarded for his efforts this season with a whopping £60,000 per-week contract, as the club’s prized asset enters the final 18 months of his current deal.

Austin, who has netted 14 times for the relegation-threatened outfit, looks set for an England call-up in March, alongside Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane, and chairman Tony Fernandes discussed the contract talks:

“Charlie is at an age where it’s important for him to make the right decision,” Fernandes was quoted by the Daily Mail.

“I think his heart is with QPR. Obviously he’s thinking about whether we get relegated but I’m sure something will be worked out.”

However, when asked if the Hoops have a wage-limit, the 50-year-old replied, “spot on” – and as such doesn’t expect the 25-year-old to sign any new deal until the end of the current campaign.
