The England midfielder has not played for the Gunners first team since November and it appeared that his injury woes would continue after further ankle surgery ten days ago.

Wilshere, though has defied critics as it appears the operation was simply to alleviate irritation in his joint where a pin had been inserted.

Arsenal’s long standing manager Arsene Wenger has not yet ruled him out of an appearance against West Ham at the weekend, previous to Monaco in the Champions League last 16 second leg, but the club are 100 per cent sure he will be available for the European game.

The Gunners lost 3-1 at the Emirates to Monaco and face a gargantuan task in order to turn the tie around, though if the team are to have any chance in the game they will need a fully fit side.
