The 25-year-old has found his second season with the La Liga giants difficult, and despite scoring in both Copa Del Rey and Champions League finals last year he has been heavily booed by sections of Madrid supporters as reported by the Guardian following a game earlier in the season.

Last weekend he had his car attacked as he left the club’s training ground following a poor performance in the El Clasico defeat by Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star has long been linked with a move Manchester United, with the Daily Express flagging up interest in December last year.

The Welshman has since denied all rumours of a departure as reported by the BBC just a month later, but it appears the Welshman’s stance is beginning to soften.

Bale was able put his woes in Spain behind as he played a starring role in Wales’ 3-0 2016 European Championship qualifier win against Israel in Haifa on Saturday evening.

He had a hand in all three goals, as he assisted Aaron Ramsey in first half injury time before helping himself to a brace after the break including a stunning trademark free-kick.
