The Frenchman scored on Saturday, as the Blues beat Stoke City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League with a game in hand on second placed Arsenal.

He had only started as regular starter Costa had been on the bench, as he was recovering from a hamstring injury.

Costa then suffered a recurrence of the problem when he came on in the second half.

Now the west London side will be without their top scorer for at least two weeks, leaving them short as they attempt to win the league. However, Hazard thinks that Remy is perfectly equipped to take his place in the side.

The Belgian said: “He can score every time when he’s on the pitch. This guy deserves to score a lot of goals.”
