The Welshman struck in the 12th minute to hand the visitors their eighth successive top-flight victory, which took them to within four points of leaders Chelsea.

Ramsey’s effort took the Gunners one step closer to achieving Champions League qualification for the 18th consecutive season, and ensured that boss Arsene Wenger was the first manager to guide his team to eight straight Premier League wins this term.

The former Cardiff City man took to Instagram after the game to reflect on the vital triumph, and his own personal milestone.

While securing a top-four finish is the priority for Wenger’s men, the title itself is still within reach, although they are relying on Chelsea slipping up during the run-in. Jose Mourinho’s side have two games in hand, the first of which comes tomorrow lunchtime at neighbours Queens Park Rangers.
